I was tasked with creating a completely new website to showcase the JACKLIGHT's features, benefits, and other information to the end-user. I also establishing the information architecture/content in order to create an experience that provides all the information for users to become comfortable making an informed decision. Through the whole process, I collaborated with the CEO, Marketing Director and developer in order to refine the product and make it more suitable for its target demographics. Here is a description of the product:

"The JACKLIGHT is your new hands-free LED work lighting solution. With a powerful 260 maximum lumen output in a slim design, this versatile product can be placed almost anywhere! Twist, bend, curve, and coil into any tight space, complicated machinery, or situation where you need to be hands-free. The JACKLIGHT is one of the most unique no-glare work lights on the market being virtually indestructible while able to bend in most work situations."

The purpose of this product is to become a competitor with a unique advantage with other LED work-lights in the industry. The challenge was to make sure that the features stand out, users aren't confused by the information, and make sure that the brand remains consistent throughout the site.
Research Phase
During this phase, I conducted research on the who, what, when, where and why of this product. Along with that, the information presented must be chronological in nature and reveal itself in a way from more general information to complex as you scroll down the page. With my research, I examined competitors like Home Depot, CAT, Sears, etc. to see how they organized the information of their products. I also looked that these retailers in how they handle their eCommerce spaces to better see how to showcase information in order to purchase the product.

Armed with this information, I began collaborating with stakeholders to make sure all information was accurate, disclaimers handled and the flow made sense for the product. I went through different aspects of the actual content to make sure the right thing was being communicated: the uniqueness of the JACKLIGHT from other LED work lights.

Low-Fi/High-Fi Mock-Up Phase
To match the content, I wanted the design to reflect a general to complex information architecture. I created a simple user-flow to reflect the research I conducted as many sites try to cram in as much information at one time. Below are some of the sketches I produced in order to communicate and design based off of the research conducted.
 Desktop and Mobile Hi-Fi Mock-ups
Project Reflection
I believe the end result designed for the consumer in mind and was driven by research, and critical thinking of the information architecture. I added some fun and emotional bits where appropriate to appeal to the end user's need for a LED work light that matches their needs for various construction or low-light work situations.
