My role in this project was to work with the Marketing Services Manager to redesign the UI for the Choice Adhesives website product filter page to make information more accessible to the users of the site. With my manager providing the data and feedback from the client, I collaborated with them to understand the client’s goals, their touch points, bottlenecks, etc. to make the layout easier to navigate. We went through the wireframe process, revisions, high-fi mockups, and minimal testing before sending to the client for review. This was a great improvement of their existing UI from the client and manager perspective from matching their goals and data acquired from both parties.

Design Goal: For Increased User Accessibility
The previous design for Choice Adhesives products lacked filter capabilities and product groupings that made sense based on their products. Constant complaints from the client have communicated that it was hard to access their product information. Since they service multiple brands, the previous design made it difficult to filter by brand as well.

Initial Sketches
In the wire-framing process, we wanted to make sure to create a gradual reveal of the new hierarchy to be established from more general to complex filtering capabilities. Brand was the defining factor initially. We decided to make the brands clickable buttons to make the association easier for the user by making them the forefront of the filter.

We then went to a traditional filter system similar to clothing lines, however, change them to filter products by the markets the adhesives are used for, the class type, etc. We also added the brands section represented as well to assist for consistency. Below is one of my initial sketches that helped me prepare the bones before any mock-ups:
Project Completion
We published the changed on the live site along with other homepage changed and small design tweaks. You can see the final filter and design here: https://www.choiceadhesivescorp.com/products/. I believe we created a better user experience that appealed to internal stakeholders that solve their problem trying to find these problems based on new parameters in the industry. We also received feedback based on their use of the filtering system it receive very positive feedback. It was a wonderful process to employ to help users navigate their information easily!
